Initiative for Decreasing Disparities in Depression CME:
Provider Self-Assessment CME Model Incorporating Cultural and Linguistic Competence in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Depression

= Guidelines for Completing this Continuing Education Activity

This CME activity has three parts:

  • Answering the questions witin each domain to assess your awareness, knowledge and skills related to that topic and to give you an opportunity to learn about what comprises culturally and linguistically competent care
  • Answering a question that will assess what you have learned from each domain for the CME credits
  • Creating a list of resources that you would like to use in your personalized plan for future learning.

Within each domain, answer each question to reflect your own assessment of your awareness, knowledge or skills. At the end of each domain section there will be two activities:

  1. You will be presented with a CME question based on the content of the domain you have just completed. Answer that question and your response will be recorded for scoring to indicate your mastery of the material.
  2. You will be provided with more information about your level—awareness, knowledge or skill—on the area covered by that domain and the correct answer for the CME question.

You will then view a list of resources that will help you advance your awareness, knowledge or skills related to that domain. Check the box next to any resources that interest you for future learning. Items you check will be added to your personal learning plan that will be provided to you at the end of the activity. There will also be a link to a PDF of the resource list if you would like to download it and save for future use

This process will be repeated at the end of each domain.

At the end of the CME activity, you will be presented with your own personal learning plan that includes the items you chose for the resource lists in each domain. You can print this out or save it for future use.

You must complete the entire tool in one session to receive CME credit. When you have completed the activity and provided all required information, you will receive an on-line CME certificate. You can print this out or save it for future use.
